whale or mermaid?

Just wanna share this inspiring post...

A while back, at the entrance of a gym, there was a picture of a very thin and beautiful woman. The caption was "This summer, do you want to be a mermaid or a whale?"

The story goes, a woman (of clothing size unknown) answered the following way:

"Dear people, whales are always surrounded by friends (dolphins, seals, curious humans), they are sexually active and raise their children with great tenderness.
They entertain like crazy with dolphins and eat lots of prawns. They swim all day and travel to fantastic places like Patagonia, the Barents Sea or the coral reefs of Polynesia.
They sing incredibly well and sometimes even are on cds. They are impressive and dearly loved animals, which everyone defend and admires.

Mermaids do not exist.

But if they existed, they would line up to see a psychologist because of a problem of split personality: woman or fish?
They would have no sex life and could not bear children.
Yes, they would be lovely, but lonely and sad.
And, who wants a girl that smells like fish by his side?

Without a doubt, I'd rather be a whale.

At a time when the media tells us that only thin is beautiful, I prefer to eat ice cream with my kids, to have dinner with my husband, to eat and drink and have fun with my friends.

smoke n' pink

This tutorial  will show you how to achieve a sexy smokey eyes with hot pink lips...

Make sure that you have applied your foundation and concealed your blemishes...

start with naked eyes...

I used the NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk and applied it all over the lid.
This will make the colors pop for that smokey effect..

Taking a lightest gray eyeshadow , apply this color all over the lid, blended along the way

Now, taking the darker gray shadow, start on the outer corner of the eyes and follow along the crease
Keep it clean and light....

Taking a fluffy brush, make sure to blend it very well to avoid any harsh line

Now, taking a matte black eye shadow, dab it  against the outer corner of your eyes
this will give your eyes that enticing, smokey look.
Be sure to blend it well, you should not see where the color begins or ends.

Now for the fun part, I used the Ever bilena glitter eye liner in white diamond
and tapped it at the inner corners of the eyes.
This will add a metallic look for sexier effect..

Now, apply a liquid liner to your upper and lower lash line

and pencil liner to your water line.

apply your favorite mascara and false lashes

and for that sexy lips, I used the
Revlon super  lustrous lipstick in
Cherry in the snow.....

Now, you can enjoy your beautiful eyes
and sexy lips....

review: Maybelline Clear Smooth Face Powder

I've always been on a hunt on a face powder that would suit my oily and acidic skin. So I decided to try the Maybelline Clear Smooth Face Powder although I'm a little bit skeptical at first because I have never been a fan of their foundations. I chose the shade LIGHT, which a little bit lighter than my skin tone. It came with a nice package and a cheap price for only P199 pesos!

It's a good thing I tried because the powder was really nice! When applied, it was  smooth and silky. It's not scented. It's easy to blend or layer. It has medium coverage  which gave me a matte, flawless finish. It goes on very light and smooth and gives me enough coverage and oil control for quick touch ups. The added spf was an extra bonus! I used this to set my foundation and for lazy days, I just use my favorite Myra E tinted moisturizer and top it with this powder and I'm good to go. I really love this face power and will definitely repurchase.

  •    It contains high UV protection to prevent skin darkening and to have a fair, natural skin tone.
  •    The  fine powder glides like silk and melts smoothly on the skin. It covers flawlessly but looks    perfectly natural. I think it is also blend able for more coverage, just be careful when applied too much because it tends to be cakey.
  •    It has oil absorbing ingredients remove shine, for a clean shine-free finish for all day.

Acidic Skin????

Have you experienced putting on the perfect foundation to your face and then after an hour or two turns darker ? or when your face gets oily, your skin turns darker too?

By all mean, you have an ACIDIC SKIN!

I have an oily and acidic skin. I bought foundations that has a shade of "natural Beige" because I thought that was the perfect shade for me. It was my husband who  noticed that my foundation turned darker than when I first applied it. But the bigger problem that I have was when I set my foundation with a loose powder! this actually darkens my skin a couple of shades than my actual skin tone which really sucks! So I have done some research and tried different things to remedy this problem.

Hope these tips could help....

Use a foundation shade, one tone lighter than your skin tone so that your  face will match my skin tone once you face gets oily and acidic. So I went from natural beige to soft beige or light beige.

To avoid oiliness, I used a makeup base or  primer to keep our  face from being oily. I used Ellana face primer. It is also better to used an eyeshadow primer to avoid losing the colors that we put into the lid.

Its is also very important to choose the right  loose powder because this will not only set your makeup but it will also make your face look flawless I'm still on a hunt for a good loose/translucent powder. i have tried the nichido finishing powder as well as the loreal translucent powder which also good if your have the right shade for your kin type. I am actually interested to try the maybelline Clear Smooth Face Powder:)

Do you share the same acidic face like mine? How did you deal with it?

I heart my body!!

Just wanted to share this beautiful article to inspire us all...:)

20 WAYS TO LOVE YOUR BODY!!
Compiled by Margo Maine, Ph.D.

1. Think of your body as the vehicle to your dreams. Honor it. Respect it. Fuel it.

2. Create a list of all the things your body lets you do. Read it and add to it often.

3. Become aware of what your body can do each day. Remember it is the instrument of your life, not just an ornament.

4. Create a list of people you admire: people who have contributed to your life, your community, or the world. Consider whether their appearance was important to their success and accomplishments.

5. Walk with your head held high, supported by pride and confidence in yourself as a person.

6. Don’t let your weight or shape keep you from activities that you enjoy.

7. Wear comfortable clothes that you like, that express your personal style, and that feel good to your body.

8. Count your blessings, not your blemishes.

9. Think about all the things you could accomplish with the time and energy you currently spend worrying about your body and appearance. Try one!

10. Be your body’s friend and supporter, not its enemy.

11. Consider this: your skin replaces itself once a month, your stomach lining every five days, your liver every six weeks, and your skeleton every three months. Your body is extraordinary--begin to respect and appreciate it.

12. Every morning when you wake up, thank your body for resting and rejuvenating itself so you can enjoy the day.

13. Every evening when you go to bed, tell your body how much you appreciate what it has allowed you to do throughout the day.

14. Find a method of exercise that you enjoy and do it regularly. Don’t exercise to lose weight or to fight your body. Do it to make your body healthy and strong and because it makes you feel good. Exercise for the Three F’s: Fun, Fitness, and Friendship.

15. Think back to a time in your life when you felt good about your body. Tell yourself you can feel like that again, even in this body at this age.

16. Keep a list of 10 positive things about yourself--without mentioning your appearance. Add to it!

17. Put a sign on each of your mirrors saying, “I’m beautiful inside and out.”

18. Choose to find the beauty in the world and in yourself.

19. Start saying to yourself, “Life is too short to waste my time hating my body this way.”

20. Eat when you are hungry. Rest when you are tired. Surround yourself with people that remind you of your inner strength and beauty.

Don’t Weigh Your Self-Esteem. It’s What’s Inside That Counts!

Beauty Secrets From Across the Globe

A steal page form Bella Sugar....

Over the millennia, isolated human populations found various ways to keep their hair, nails, and skin in good shape using simple ingredients from the environments around them. Now, with increasing globalization, we have access to a whole world's worth of accumulated beauty knowledge. Keep reading to check out these 10 cool recipes and secret ingredients from spots around the globe.

  • China: Camellia oil Worried about stretch marks? Camellia oil is one of the most common cooking oils in southern China, but it's also renowned for its ability to prevent stretch marks and discoloration.

  • Mexico: Tepezcohuite The bark of this tree has tons of astringent tannins in it, making it great for preventing infections and keeping scars from forming.

  • The Dominican Republic: Garlic Here's a smart secret from the DR for strong, healthy nails: chop up some garlic, throw it in a bottle of top coat, and then, after letting it soak for about a week, start using it as normal. It makes your nails stronger and also has anti fungal and antimicrobial properties.

  • India: Neem Want glossy, strong hair? A weekly head massage with neem and coconut oil is Indian women's go-to treatment for gorgeous hair and a healthy scalp. Recipes for the combination have a long history in Ayurvedic medicine.

  • Japan: Sake Want an easy skin softener? Try a sake bath. Sake is high in kojic acid and enzymes that soften skin and help reduce hyper-pigmentation.

  • New Zealand: Manuka honey People have been using honey for its antimicrobial properties (and its deliciousness) since prehistoric times. The Kiwi type of honey, however, is even better as an antibacterial and antimicrobial than the regular kind, and it's even used in poultices to protect wounds.

  • Ghana: Black soap This great Ghanian soap is legendary for its gentle cleansing properties and skin-softening abilities. It's made with plantain skins, which have loads of vitamins A and E, and moisturizing shea butter. What you get is a cleanser that removes dirt and oil but doesn't strip skin of any natural moisture.

  • France: Milk Milk is full of gentle lactic acid, which exfoliates and softens without the harshness of stronger acid types. Pour some fresh whole milk or cream into your bath along with honey or lavender to get a gorgeous glow.

  • Morocco: Argan oil This antioxidant-packed oil is great for hair and skin, and it absorbs much more easily than common skin oils like apricot and avocado

  • The Amazon: Passion flower oil Passion flower oil, aka maracuja, has been used in the Amazon for thousands of years because of its anti-inflammatory abilities, but it's also high in fatty acids and vitamin C.

  • and the Philippines????
Papaya soap! to lighten skin and reduce spots. Makes skin tone more even and brighter.
